Stain removal
Did you know that over the last two years the number of pets in the UK has declined? The pet population peaked in 2013 at 70 million, but as of 2017 it is now estimated to be around 54 million. That said, that is still a lot of homes that have some kind of animal as a pet, the most popular pet being the dog with 24 percent of people owning one.
While pets can be a brilliant addition to any family and bring a lot of happiness, every now and then they can also present a challenge. Take for example a client who recently asked Edinburghclean.co.uk to clean their carpets. They had a poorly pet that had an unfortunate accident on the carpet. Ordinarily most stains can be easily removed but biological waste can be a little more difficult. This is because firstly due to the nature of the waste, it must be removed as hygienically as possible, and secondly, enzymes and acids that can still be active in the waste can begin to break down the natural fibres, such as wool and silk, in the carpet. This means that if left for too long or not treated with the right product, the enzymes and acids can create particularly tough stains that are difficult to remove.
With just one call to EdinburghClean.co.uk, we were able to attend the same day and clean the waste away, ensuring the area was completely hygienic and remove virtually all the staining.
Carpets can cost the thousands of pounds to replace, however to remove this stain, the job was completed for under £80. While this type of staining is rare, we can help with many more types: split milk, food staining, vomit, blood and dirt marks.
In the event of an accident where a potential stain could occur on your carpet, you need to: –
- Phone us immediately, tell us as much as possible about the stain.
- Place a towel or other absorbent material over the stain if wet.
- DO NOT rub or scrub the stain.
